About GBMA

Our highest accolades:

"With a youth spent in Glasgow - a city with a lively arts tradition - and in the Clydeside region when it was still producing some of the world's most famous ships, it is no wonder that Gordon Bauwens should have been attracted to the field of maritime art. Devoting his considerable talent to depicting these ships in his own realistic and attractive style has earned him acclaim from admirers of his work, of whom I am one among many."

The late SIR JOHN BROWN
- A chief designer of Queen Mary & Queen Elizabeth. Former Managing Director of the John Brown Shipyard, Clydebank.

"I may have dreamt up the ultimate ocean liner but only you could have captured QM2 on canvas as you have! Majesty at Sea is a wonderful painting... "

Stephen Payne OBE, Chief Designer of Queen Mary 2

To share...

GB Marine Art was formed to publish and market quality art reproductions from the paintings of Gordon Bauwens, one of Britain's leading contemporary marine artists. Our main aim is for fellow ship-lovers to share in the pleasure that this artist derives from his favourite maritime subjects. By offering these works as high quality, signed lithographic prints, the considerable amount of care and time invested in the paintings can be appreciated by many more enthusiasts than would be possible from marketing them as original paintings only. (For Originals and Commissions, please refer to Commissions page).
In our Artist-signed and numbered Limited Editions, we offer exclusivity, collectability and excellent value for money. Our less expensive signed 'Open' Editions, while never compromising quality, ensure these popular subjects will be available for longer than the Limited Editions. As the proud owner of any GB Marine Art reproduction, you benefit from many weeks of research and painting of that particular subject, plus a lifetime of skill development, personal experience and passion for such vessels. By his meticulous attention to detail and genuine feel for the ships he portrays, Gordon Bauwens has earned international recognition as one whose labour is of both hand and heart.
